Under the newly introduced welfare measures approved inrecently held welfare meeting, fourteen SPOs have been provided financialassistance/medical relief here on Wednesday. An amount of Rs 3.04 lakh has beensanctioned by the Director General of Police J&K, Dilbag Singh under PHQorder no. 2858, in their favour.
The amount has been sanctioned to defray the expenses inconnection with self-treatment/ treatment of dependents of these SPOs. Thefinancial assistance and medical-relief varies from minimum of Rs 5,000 to themaximum of Rs 1 lakh, keeping in view the nature of requirement of thesepersonnel
Rs 1 lakh has been sanctioned in favour of an SPO, who alongwith his son had sustained bullet injuries in a terrorist attack in NorthKashmir. Around Rs 85,000 has been sanctioned in favour of six SPOs fortreatment of their dependents. Similarly, Rs 1.20 lakh has been sanctioned infavour of seven SPOs for self-treatment.The financial assistance in favour ofthese SPOs has been sanctioned out of the Police Pariwar/ SPOs ContributoryFund. The amount has been released online to concerned SSsP for furtherreimbursement/ disbursement to concerned beneficiaries.
The PHQ has been sanctioning financial assistance andmedical relief for serving/retired personnel including SPOs to meet expenses oftheir treatment and other exigencies. The assistance is provided out ofdifferent heads of Contributory Welfare Fund.
